Music Making Software

Making dance music on your computer is now easier than ever, but if you have never tried to make music on your computer or have little experience in music production software and programmes then its strongly recommended you consider what your first piece of music software might be.

If you are just starting out then I would recommend a sequencing program like Magix Music Maker. This program will give you everything you need to create and produce your own dance music (or any type of music: rock, pop, classical). You can also add video clips and images to your music to give them a real professional feel.

How do they work?

Software like Magix comes withs lots of samples (drum hits, piano chords, synth lines, vocals etc) that you can use to compose your track however you want. If you dont want to you dont have to use any of this and can record straight from your instrument, to your computer as your playing live - this would be done via your sound card. If you are a keyboard player you will find the MIDI feature useful for recording your songs and tweeking music scores.

I would strongy recommend Magix for making music because its so simple and user friendly. Also there are many high quality sample CDs that you can use to expand your sample collectionas well as being able to import and rcorded sample you have to use in your song.
